Date: June 1, 2006

Location: Ireland in 1784.

subject: Alexander Kerr

Name: Donna (Kerr) Newlands

Comments: My great, great grandfather, Alexander Kerr, was born in Ireland in 1784. In 1811, he married Jane Scott, also born in Ireland, in 1793. In 1819, they immigrated to Canada, with 3 children. Elizabeth (b:1812), Joseph (b: 1814), and Mary (b:1815).
Six other children were born in Canada; my great grandfather, Robert Alexander (b: 1834) being the youngest. Both Alexander and Jane are buried in Canada (Anglican Cemetery in Lower Woodstock, NB, Canada).
I have been able to trace the line since Alexander and Jane's arrival in Canada, but have been unable to find any information prior to their immigration.
Any clues that I can find will be much appreciated.

Thanks.Donna (Kerr) Newlands

subject parents and birthplace of Joseph Carr

Name Jesse Carr

comments: I am seeking any information about the Irish birthplace and parents/forbears
of Joseph Carr who came to Wilmington NC, settling in Duplin County at around 1730.
He accompanied Captain Benjamin Beverett and his wife Barbara Gastor on the Atlantic
voyage. Joseph and Barbara were later married, bearing several children after Captain
Beverett was lost at sea. The family were Presbyterians, Joseph passing away sometime
around 1780 in Duplin County.
